These female plugs don''t fit well when plugging to TGY (Turnigy) or some of my old plugs that I have aquired over the years. It is very tight and not smooth.

Here is the combination test:

1. MCIGICM female and male XT60: tight connection. Possible to pull bare plugs apart by hand. They don''t sound smooth when plugging in and pulling out

2. MCIGICM female XT60 connector to TGY or other brands of male XT60 connector: very tight and feel like the plugs are scratching each other as you push them in or pull them apart. Some times I have to use plier to pull them apart.

3. MCIGICM XT60 male to female XT60 on Turnigy Nano battery pack: tight connection but smoother than any of the above mentioned combination

4. TGY XT60 male and female: tight connection yet it''s very smooth to push or pull them. It feels as if the barrel of the female plug and the plug of the male plug are WELL polished

Over the years I have accumulated quite a lot of these XT60 plugs for my projects and didnt meet this problem until I bought these. Im not sure which plug is at fault or didnt meet the spec but the smoothness of the other brand suggests these MCIGICM plugs are at fault.

Excellent connectors which stand up to soldering temperatures

These are what you use when you want something solid and professional. I soldered 14awg and 12awg wire to these with lead free solder, using 375C for 14awg wire and 400-410 for the 12awg (65W iron) to get it done - I''m not a pro at soldering - and these hold up to the heat.

As most recommend when soldering the male ones, make sure to connect them to a female (actually just do this always) to help dissipate heat away from the plastic and prevent deformation. You''ll also want a proper vice to hold them in place. I used the ''helping hands'' alligator clip things, and it was a total pain.

One thing is that XT60s can be crazy tight. Using needle nose pliers or some skinny tool you can squeeze the male pins a bit to make them a little smaller and loosen them up. If they end up too small they might not ''stick'' together anymore in which case you can just open them up again to restore a stiffer connection. If its a connector you wont be disconnecting often, they''re fine out of the box.

Final comment. I separately bought an XT60 series harness and found that they were insanely tight when connecting to these XT60 connectors here. Even after compressing the male pins to make them smaller, and using pliers to squeeze the connectors together, I couldn''t get them to seated fully. I ended up making my own series harness with the connectors here.

Great design, easy to assemble. Most importantly, their susceptibility to MELTING when soldering the posts is very low. So far, I''ve assembled 10 units with no issues. Previous connectors have all had problems when applying heat to solder (post movement causing mis-alignment or no contact). These have NOT had problems, and YES I do limit the time on post when applying heat. I am soldering a #12 AWG wire to each terminal post with a 100 Watt iron.
Built 2 each, 40 Volt LiPO (SPIM08HP battery pouch) with these connectors handling about 9000ma with no problems. Great ''Bite'' when connecting. The ONLY CON is the shell size (I''ve got big hands), it''s a bit difficult to grasp the shell when disconnecting.

The connectors fit well together and the solder wells readily accept solder. The shell material is not adversely affected by the soldering process, with no discoloration or distortion associated with normal soldering practices. The snap on connection covers fit well and stay in place, protecting the solder wells. Some heat shrink tubing may be beneficial if you are using thin gauge wire & there is a potential for foreign material to potentially cause a short.

I did not care for this item. I soldered the wires into the ends the way you were supposed to and it worked good. I connected the wires together and after the first time of pulling them apart, the wires come loose from the solder connection. I have used solder connections for years and this turned out to be the worst one that I have ever used. I bought two packs of them and after using two individual ones, I threw away the full pack and the rest of unused pack. Would not use these again if they were given to me for free.

The pins are short and I was concerned that soldering a thick wire into them would mean holding the iron in place long enough that the plastic sheath would melt. This did not happen. It''s easy to solder the wires and the black plastic cover helps support the wires and it all looks very neat. I''m using it for connectors for LiPo batteries and to provide 12V power into a charger. In both cases the connectors fit very well.

Not sure how you are supposed to solder these - no amount of flux will get the solder to stick to the contacts before the plastic starts melting.

Update - I found that if I glop gutter flux from the hardware store into the contact, then put heat on until the (12AWG) wire insulation starts to get melty, the solder will stick. Lost 2 connectors finding this out. My guess is there is a large oxide layer over the contacts because these connectors sat in an open box for a couple years
